This is a long term (6 months to start) NJ Job Description: The project involves moving Sybase databases to the new datacenter - all Sybase databases are 12.5.4. and most of them will be upgrading to Version 15.x as part of the move. Additionally, our call Center makes use of Sybase Replication Server 12.6 and this must move as well.
Requirements: Excellent Oral and Written communication skills => MUST have ASE Adaptive Server configuration as well as Replication Server configuration setup experience => Must be able to size databases and servers as part of the database consolidation project. We will be moving 70+ databases as part of a database consolidation project. => Proficient in DBA monitoring and diagnostics tools for Sybase. => Architect to implement our Sybase Best Practice configuration in the new datacenter. => KORN and or Perl Shell scripting a plus. => Performance / Tuning skills and versed with the tools.
