Role: Senior Java Developer
Duration: 6 months plus (likely 12 months or more)
Rate: Negotiable. Candidates that are local or willing to relocate desired.
Soft Skills:
• Proven track record of delivering high quality work in a short period of
time.
• Must be able to translate technical issues into business issues and/or
functionality.
• Need to be able to work with QA teams. Need to be able to provide status
to the tech lead and be forward thinking to alert the lead of impending
issues.
• Ability to work in a matrixed environment. Self-starter who can work
without a lot of supervision or direction, willing to make decisions without
checking with others.
Must Have Technical Skills

Required & Desirable Technical Skills:
• Diverse experience utilizing a wide array Java tools in business, Web, and
client-server environments including Java Platform, Enterprise Edition
(J2EE), Enterprise Java Bean (EJB), JavaServer Pages (JSP), Java Servlets
(including JNDI), Struts, JFC/Swing, AJAX and Java database Connectivity
(JDBC) technologies.
• Experience in delivering mobile applications using Java Micro Edition
(JME), Java FX Mobile or comparable.
• Fluent understanding of multiple development languages including
JavaScript, HTML, CSS and XML, and ability to write clean, eloquent, minimal
code in a load-balanced environment to achieve value added business
outcomes.
• Ability to efficiently and effectively apply lo-fi, mid-fi and high-fi
prototyping techniques to promote requirements understanding, minimize
rework and build trust in solutions with customers and end users.
• Expertise in Object Oriented analysis and design, UML modeling, Classic
design patterns and J2EE patterns.
• Technically capable with maximizing build quality and simplifying the
build process through use of build integration tools (e.g. JUNIT, Ant,
Maven, etc.).
• Experience in integrating through Oracle Fusion, IBM Websphere or
comparable EAI environments.
• Comfortable designing and developing Object Oriented, multi-tier
applications in a complex architectural landscape which includes a strong
SAP footprint.
• Experience, interest and adaptability to working in a Waterfall or
Lean/Agile delivery environment. Strong preference for SCRUM/XP development
expertise.
• Capable with maximizing build quality and simplifying the build process
through use of build and integration tools (e.g. JUNIT, Ant, Maven, etc.).
• Successful track record collaborating with product owners, product
managers and business subject matter experts to ensure delivered solutions
optimally support the achievement of business outcomes.
• Experience with Eclipse, Junit, Jmeter, XML, SOAP/REST Web Services,
relational databases and SQL is preferred JBOSS and Oracle experience is
highly desired
• GWT a plus but not required
