Unix system Admin Location: Albany, NY Duration: 12 months HP Unix System Administrator: 1. Advanced level of experience in design, implementation and administration of HP server hardware platforms, including but not limited rp8420, rp5450, rp7400, and ia64 Superdome server SD32B platforms. 2. Advanced level of experience in implementation, administration and tuning of HP-UX operating systems, including but not limited to HP-UX versions 11.11, 11.23 and 11.31 Candidate is experienced in researching OS issues, performance tuning, applying patches, hardening the OS, and opening vendor tickets. Experience with HP-VM, and HP Npar is required. 3. Experience with HP-UX Logical Volume Manager, and Filesystem, is required. 4. Advanced level of experience in SAN integration including server configuration, troubleshooting, and performance analysis. Preferred experience with EMC and IBM SAN. 5. Demonstrable experience with system performance tuning and capacity planning using os tools(ex.glance, sar). 6. Install, setup, and utilize Ignite server for OS provisioning and recovery. 7. Install and configuration of HP Remote Support Pack (RSP). 8. Install, configure and troubleshooting experience with HP Serviceguard Cluster software for server failover on High-Availability applications is required. 9. Experience with configuring, tuning and troubleshooting multihomed servers. 10. Advanced level of experience in OS network-related administration tasks, including installing, configuring, and troubleshooting of network interface, nic teaming (auto port aggregation), dns, nfs, ntp, ssh, ssl, and snmp. 11. Must exhibit in-depth knowledge of IP (both TCP and UDP), subnetting, routing, vlans, firewalls, and troubleshooting networks using os or 3rdparty tools (ex: wireshark, netstat, lanscan, and lanadmin). 12. Experience with integrating and supporting critical services is preferred. These include (but are not limited to) DNS, Tivoli TSM and Monitoring. 13. Experience install, configuring common off the shelf applications: (ex: cognos, oracle database) is desired. 14. Provides customer assistance with design, implementation, audits and support for business applications. 15. Experience Leading Projects and/or worked with other groups as part of project team till the project comes to successful end. 16. Experience with writing technical documentation which includes creating dataflow diagrams and training. 17. Provide on-call, third-level support for HP server environment across 4 or more data centers operating 24x7.
