SQA Engineer DURHAM, North Carolina Job Description: Perform Quality Reviews on Software Specification Documents and provide meaningful feedback to Business Analysts. Develop Test Documentation (Test Plan, and Test Cases). Execute test cases/procedures and accurately and concisely report both progress and defect status, including gathering and reporting on project quality metrics; Perform functional/ integration/ backend testing Track defects through the entire defect lifecycle. Perform application/SQL deployments. Pro-actively work with Development and Support staff in problem analysis, reproduction, and resolution; Troubleshoot and find root cause of issues found during testing using technical knowledge. Should be able to work with team of people and also cross teams where needed. Report any foreseen risks / issues in project to management on timely manner. Positive Attitude. Good Communications skills (Written and verbal) Skillset Required: Extensive use of SQL 2005/2008. Able to write complex queries as needed for Data Validation. Expertise in understanding Relational database models. Expertise in testing SQL batch jobs.(Manual and Scheduled). Expertise in testing stored procedures. Experience using UNIX commands in testing UNIX based applications. Good Documentation skills. Good Understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Iterative Development process). Web Applications testing skills. Good Understanding of data warehouse testing concepts. Nice to Have: Experience working in Finance Domain. Basic understanding of Mortgage Industry/terminology.
