High preference would be for local candidates DESCRIPTION: Position Summary: Develop *databases for use by .Net developers working on standalone* and client/server applications as well as external facing websites and web services. Essential Job Functions: - Gather requirements and business logic directly from end users to create logical and physical database designs and business process diagrams - Develop, debug and release stored procedures in Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 - Work closely with .Net developers to create and maintain structures and data used by their applications - Maintain close adherence to security best practices, and internal design standards - Manipulate large datasets for utilization in end user reporting, bulk loading, and comparison with third party systems - Create and maintain Operational Data Stores (ODS) and SQL Server analysis services cubes. - Refactor existing database structures - Assist the Database Administrator with production releases and provide coverage for database administration tasks such as backups - Create and maintain related documentation Non-Essential Functions: - Perform related projects and duties as assigned Minimum Position Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent with previous related work experience required; Bachelor’s degree in related discipline preferred - Ability to maintain confidentiality - Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 database system including Reporting Services, SSIS, and Analysis services - Experience with Data Modeling/Relational Database Design - Must have experience in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures and functions - Ability to work independently, but with a team focus - Effective communications and interpersonal skills - A strong customer service focus and meticulous attention to detail - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment with limited supervision - Experience using Microsoft Office Applications - Strong analytical and organizational skills - Must be able to pass background and credit checks Preferred Experience - Experience with Database Administration with Microsoft SQL Server - Experience with .NET development and web services - Experience with Red-gate tools and Embarcadero ER/Studio - Financial Industry/credit card/PCI standards experience.
