*Java Migration Specialist* *Duration: 3 month + *
*Location: Parsippany, NJ* The client prefers local people ---will do a phone interview first then schedule a face to face In this role, the Java Migration Specialist will be responsible for upgrading the existing online policy administration and quoting system. *Further responsibilities/duties are listed below:* • Understand existing systems and design system migration path • Migrate *Java 1.4* code base and libraries to *Java 1.7* • Migrate existing *JRun* Application Server to *JBoss* *AS 7 (Glassfish and WebSphere* are being considered) • Migrate *JAXB 1.0 to JAXB 2.x* • Upgrade Apache 2.0.X + OpenSSL 0.9.8 to 2.4.X + OpenSSL1.0.1 • Demonstrate adherence to excellent design principles as well as understanding what makes a secure and efficient system • Able to work in an agile development environment • Works with other teams and specialists within the organization • Identify the scope of an area of system design work, to recognize and understand the potential impact on other areas and to provide accurate time estimates to a successful project completion. *Education*: • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems or mathematics *Required*: • 5 + years of experience in application design and development in Java • Experience in migrating older *Java J2EE 1.4 platform to Java EE 6 or Java EE 7 platform* • Experience in migrating *Java Application Server to JBoss AS/EAP* • Experience in migrating *JAXB 1.0 application to JAXB 2.x* • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with other teams • Strong communication and problem-solving skills • Attention to detail • Ability to produce clear and concise documentation • Travel Domestic/International less than 10% *Required Technical Competencies:* • J2EE 1.4, Java EE 5, Java EE 6, Java EE 7, JSON,OO Design & Programming, Eclipse IDE, JUnit, XHTML, XML DOM, XSL, XQuery, XSD, SOAP, WSDL, Apache, OpenSSL, Java Application Server (JBoss AS 7/EAP6, Glassfish or WebSphere) *Preferred Technical Competencies:* • Tamino XML Database *Thanks & Regards* *Abdul Kareem* Sr. Technical Recruiter [image: images] <http://www.sageci.com/> Sage Group Consulting Inc.
