Position: Hadoop Administrator Duration: Long term contract- 12+months Location- Phoenix, AZ Rate: Negotiable – W2 only Hadoop Administrator- Hadoop platform Engineering and Administration Job “What we need is not to run queries again PIG or Hive or Hbase but to install those tools, configure the these tools and make them available to users so they can fire of queries out of these tools. Also Need someone who understands the configuration of Hadoop cluster, starting a cluster and troubleshooting issues in start the hadoop cluster. “ Description We are growing big data infrastructure portfolio with capacities and state-of-the-art technical capabilities (NoSQL, real-time, streaming, and etc) We are searching for highly motivated individuals with proven delivery records who will bring technical leadership and hands-on experience in cluster hardware, network and OS engineering, cluster provision and deployment and cluster performance optimization to bring our cluster to the next level. The positions will provide Hadoop infrastructure engineering and administration role for the shared Hadoop(MapR) infrastructure & ecosystem(solr,splunk,memcached,tomcat,talend..). Primary responsibility includes Hadoop cluster design, provisioning, configuration, implementation and Operations of the cluster. This role is the face of Infrastructure team to all internal customers who uses the infrastructure for application development and execution. This role is also responsible for establishment of performance metrics, capacity metrics, performance monitoring & tuning and providing reports. Qualifications -Primary qualification is expert level knowledge and experience in administering large hadoop clusters (MapR distribution is preferred but not required) with Strong Linux administration experience. -Prior technical leadership and technical resource management experience is required. -Experience in identifying & troubleshooting hadoop & related ecosystem for performance optimization: MapReduce, pig, hive, HBase APIs, Solr, memcached, tomcat, etc -Strong experience in distributed monitoring, alerting and performance management tools (Ganglia and Nagios) Strong distributed systems management experience. -Previous experience and advanced knowledge in performance engineering in a extremely large scale implementation. -First hand experience in data science practice and their corresponding hadoop development activities on hadoop cluster. -Experience in performance tuning & trouble shooting java programs. -Strong analytical skills and the ability to convey technical and business concepts across all levels of the organization. -Strong organizational, decision making, risk management, relationship, and problem solving skills. -Must manage multiple tasks effectively and progress work in parallel. -Must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, a team player, comfort working in an evolving environment.
