*Position*: Java Technical Lead *Location:* Philadelphia, PA Duration: 9 months+ Role Summary *Skills Required* You must be a competent technical lead with sound technical knowledge, which will enhance the delivery of technical solutions to our customers. Your key activities will be: - To technically lead software projects through all stages of the life cycle, including responsibility for requirements capture, design, development and acceptance testing - To produce high quality technical documentation for our customers - To decompose technical tasks and provide accurate estimates and project plans for design and development - To coach less experienced members of your team; Conduct code reviews - Manage members of your on and off shore team - To undertake development tasks without supervision, including software designing, programming and testing within an industry standard development process - To monitor progress and provide updates to the Project Manager - To understand and apply a formal quality automation approach to software development You must have experience and knowledge of current Java technologies and methodologies, and hands-on experience in the following: *The application of design patterns Linux ( Ubuntu/Redhat) Test-Driven Development (TDD) *Web Serivces ( WSDL & REST) Relational databases Java Messaging , Apache Camel *Object-relational Mappers (e.g., Hibernate) *JEE , Application Servers, Servlet Containers *Dependency Injection and AOP Framework JSP/Servlets *SpringSource products (e.g., Core, WS) Web front-end experience (e.g., HTML/CSS/JavaScript) *JUnit *Oracle ( SQL / PLSQL) *Maven , Apache Ant *Jenkins *Jquery, Node.js , Angular JS Pentaho ( Reporting and Data Integration) MS Project MS Office Suite CVS, Git *- Indicates areas where senior or expert level experience is required; a Senior level expertise is desired on the remaining An understanding of the following would also be advantageous (but is not essential): - C# - Windows Servers - WCAG Accessibility *Role Description* You will bring excellent management, verbal and written communication skills to the role and will thrive on delivering results in a fast paced environment. Additional Responsibilities Coordinate Technical delivery with the PM / PMO Identify and document key delivery milestones Design Delivery/Development Procurement and Provisioning (if appropriate) Test Attend Kick-off and Requirements Elicitation meetings (as schedule permits) Take notes! Identify and document the primary platform components involved in Project Scope based on current business process & current application / data platforms & technologies Applications, Data, Batch Process User Interfaces Vendor interfaces, expectations Tools and Utilities Identify and document Technical issues and concerns Escalate Issues and Concerns to appropriate BTS management when appropriate Identify potential high level technical components involved in the Project scope Potential new Potential modified None (Technical changes not required / minimal) Review the project scope and confirm with Solution architect Work with Solution Architect to develop a new Application / Technical architecture when required.
