*Manhattan WMOS Launch Manager5+ Months* *Global Transportation Management company with very large customers, is seeking a Manhattan WMOS Launch Manager for a 5-6 month contract with the possibility of going longer. This candidate can live ANYWHERE in the continental U.S. This role will involved working from home 60% of the time, and traveling 40% of the time to client warehouse sites to launch the Manhattan Associates WMOS application in the customer environment. This role requires a strong action-orientated team player to deliver small to large/complex WMS solutions. Must work closely with and take direction from the Project Manager.* *Job Description:* *Manage the tactical deployment of enterprise products in the Warehouse and Distribution Management arena. Responsible for coordinating all product activities during the life of a project; including but not limited to, Manhattan WMOS implementation planning and execution, WMOS design (independent of vendor support), interface mapping, system configuration, script and report development, vendor liaison, client liaison, development and maintenance of product documentation, development and maintenance of product training materials, testing support, troubleshooting, production support for existing clients and the internal corporate Help Desk, and support of internal customers. The candidate should be detail oriented, process driven, and customer focused. Must have the ability to follow a data map and technical process to analyze and/or specify an integrated solution between systems. Strong communication skills is a must.* *Education and experience:* Bachelor's degree. 5+ years of IT experience. Must have hands-on experience with Manhattan Associates WMOS. Highly preferred to have experience with WMOS version 2008. *Skills:*Technical Skills - Manhattan WMOS, Parcel Management experience (FedEx), SQL, MS Project, UNIX including korn shell scripting, Windows. Technical Writer – ability to write operational and system procedures with detail, following a pre-designed format. Logical Thinker – ability to drill down from a high level process with consistency, ability to identify WMS configuration based on process flow. Ability to work out complicated system and operational solutions within a frame work (Operational Flow) and little other known information. Technical Analysis – ability to follow a data map and technical process to ensure that the system performs as expected, ability to design a test plan. Understanding of Distribution Centre/Logistics Concepts – understand best practices, conversant in warehousing terminology, ability to read and visualize "to be" model based on experience, able to look beyond current practices. Understanding of Transportation Concepts - understand transportation terminology, ability to translate DM/TM requirements and/or system configuration. Team Player – strong preference to work with a team, communication is key, collaboration. Strong communication skills – ability to communicate via e-mail and conference call effectively, ability/experience working on a team separated by physical distance. Comfortable with collaborative approach to project management – willing to work toward consensus, agreement/alignment is the corner stone of go forward position, "do what you promised you would do" attitude, willing to accept ownership. Highly focused. Ability to manage scope and present alternatives. Strong Microsoft Project skills.
