Project Description:
Unix-AIX System Administrator supporting Transition & Transformation
organization in support of server implementation to include hardware and
operating system configuration, installation of applications, installation
of supported vendor and IBM tool set, problem management resolution of
issues and security compliance of systems for production readiness. Special
skill requirements: The candidate will provide 24 x 7 project support for
the client. Provide support of the infrastructure by performing
administrative functions of the AIX pSeries (hardware and software) to
include vendor supported tools, support of IBM standard tools and maintain
servers in accordance to customer agreed upon security settings. Individual
must posses an in-depth knowledge of multiple OEM HW and versions of the
OEM OS, be able to resolve complex issue, and experience in data center
relocations. Candidate will need to have strong communication skills both
verbal and written, have the ability to work independently (self starter)
and in team environment, ability to response/support critical situations
(Crit Sit) and quickly adapt to defined process and procedures. Description
Administration skills for AIX 5.2, 5.3, 6.1 etc. Including but not limited
to: Logical Security Administration User Administration Printer /queue
Administration Batch Job Administrations (cron & at) Fileset/lppsource
installation and dependency Sendmail configuration Sudo configuration Must
be familiar with HMC setup including but not limited to: HMC initial setup
Setting up hscroot password Setting up HMC public / private network params
Must have good hands-on experience in NIM server installation. Using NIM
techniques to support mass rollout of server builds. Installing /upgrading
servers with mksysb restore Must possess a very good hands-on
troubleshooting experience including but not limited to: Server Performance
Issues, Kernel Tuning, Identifying CPU/Mem/IO bottleneck, Apply Patches,
fixpacks Booting system in maintenance mode through HMC Must possess
knowledge of hardware configuration including but not limited to: Basic
knowledge of EOL (End Of Life) HW and HCM (Hardware Compatibility Matrix ).
Should be able to backup root mksysb or sysbak Should be able to restore
servers using mksysb or sysbak Must possess HACMP clustering skills
Candidates must have good virtualization skills including but not limited
to: Micro-partitioning VIO, wPAR, Partition Mobility FDA Knowledge is a
plus Must have knowledge of LVM, JFS2 experience. HBA config, SAN. Disk
config. Mirroring, RAID, Multi-pathing Working Knowledge of NIC config,
Link Aggregation (EtherChannel), Routing, VLAN, VLAN tagging etc.
Candidates who has more than one OS platform skills would get preference
