BASIC FUNCTION

This position requires business acumen, technical knowledge and technical
leadership. Essential responsibilities require the candidate to lead a team
of offshore Software Engineers and to work with the supervisor, Architects
and other stakeholders to specify design and implement business solutions,
to work with Technical Support group to formulate solutions to critical
issues and to collaborate with off-shore team to deliver quality results.



The role will work to ensure a standard design and coding practices are
adhered to. This role may evolve over time to participate in the
development for other business initiatives within the business unit.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



•             Managing off-shore team members assigned to a given project
(done in conjunction with project managers):

o             Distributing the implementation work among the team members

o             Receiving the implementations from team members and ensure
the implementation meets functional spec

o             Ensuring that the team members know their responsibilities
and deliverable

•             Translating high level architecture to high level design

•             Implementing core design components

•             Providing estimates and refining it at inception, design and
implementation phases as part of an agile project

•             Ensuring that delivery dates are met

•             Ensuring that Quality objectives are met: number of reopened
issues are within defined limit

•             Reviewing code to ensure quality of work

•             Solving ad-hoc problems faced by team members

•             Working with Build and Deployment teams to ensure proper
build and deployment of products

•             Raising issues (that may affect delivery date or quality of
delivery) to the supervisor

•             Creating documents for technical requirements, design,
deployment and other relevant items

•             Investigate and resolve critical level 3 support issues with
Technical Support Team

•             Working with Supervisor to implement and improve repeatable
software development processes and practices with the objective of improved
quality and efficiency

OTHER DUTIES



•             Create and maintain technology roadmap for relevant products

•             Create proofs of concepts to evaluate new or unknown
technologies or techniques

•             Contribute in creating technology best practices and
guidelines

•             When necessary, interact with clients to understand their
issues and resolve those

•             Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education: BA/BS in Technology area (i.e. Computer
Science) or related field or equivalent professional experience Experience:
• Minimum 7 years of experience in software product development with
progressive increases in leadership roles/ responsibilities •  Demonstrated
track record of successful product delivery within budget, schedule, scope
and quality • Experience in supervising 2 to 4 onshore/offshore software
engineers Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:
•              Skiled with Microsoft technologies, both client server and
web-based •                Skiled in documenting technical commitments
through a software development lifecycle including providing specific
project artifacts •            ASP.Net, C#, Microsoft .Net framework
(2.0/3.x/4.x) •  ASP.Net Web API, MVC, •                HTML5, CSS etc.
•            JavaScript, JSON, REST and related technologies •
Object oriented design and development • One or more web development tools
(Visual Studio etc); •          Clear understand of database concepts
(transactions, concurrency, indexing, relational algebra etc.) •   SQL
(Microsoft SQL Server or similar DBMS) •     Clear concept of security,
performance implication of technologies and specific implementation •
Performance tuning experience a plus •         Experienced with Agile
process •             Insurance, financial industry experience preferred
•                Familiarity with IIS/ /Reporting Services •
XML, XSLT and related technologies •    Familiarity with modern software
development practices (Design Patterns etc.) •             Familiarity with
application architectures in a distributed computing environment
•           Familiarity with modern web technologies highly desirable
(AngularJS, BootStrap etc.) •                Familiarity with WCF, WF
highly desirable •          The ability to work with a variety of technical
resources that are both WKFS employees and part of an outsourced
development arrangement. •               The ability to work
cross-functionally and with many service providers and business partners. •
The ability to negotiate tradeoffs and decisions that balance the needs of
the product vision against the needs of the technical constituencies.
•       Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)—effective in
a variety of informal and formal settings. •          Strong analytical and
team-based problem solving skills. • Ability to multi-task and to switch
context effectively • Strong client focus—dedicated to meeting the

practices, trends, and developments affecting his/her business and
organization. •  Maintains functional and technical knowledge and skills to
perform the job at a high level of accomplishment. •          Ability to
travel as required
