IT Project Manager Location: Davis, CA Duration: 12mos. (w/ extension possibility) Interview process: In-person if candidate is local, otherwise, open to Skype. Job Overview: The Project Manager position serves as the strategic direction and intent of IT enterprise application program and is responsible for delivering application solutions to meet the operational workflow needs of CNPRC. The incumbent will regularly interact with Core Scientists, veterinarians (clinicians and pathologists) and researchers, and administration, building trusted partnerships that enable collaborative solutions. Leverage deep software development experience with an emphasis on workflow and business operations, while fostering and promoting continuous improvement of IT systems and the ability to communicate effectively and engage users to bring to informatics solutions to the CNPRC. Qualifications: • Minimum of 5-7+ years of relevant work experience as an IT project manager with applied IT programming experience in scientific/biomedical IT development and/or project management in an animal and research laboratory environment. • Proven knowledge of web-based technologies (JavaScript/JavaScript Frameworks, jQuery, ExtJS, AngularJS, and HTML, CSS, JSP, AJAX). • Experience with web application development (Spring, Tomcat) and relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.). Preferences: • 5+ years of experience in the life sciences, pharmaceutical, or biomedical research industries in the role of an IT project manager. • Working knowledge of computer systems validation principles and regulations such as 21 CFR Part 11, 40 CFR Part 160. • Working knowledge of CLIA and CAP accredited laboratory setting. Essential Functions: • Coordinates the efforts of third-party contractor or consultants though appropriate adoption of Vendor Management, Sourcing, and Quality Management processes. • Create solutions that will improve productivity, giving vital time back to scientists and administration and will also enable CNPRC to capture, integrate and harvest invaluable data for insightful decisions and outcomes. • Works cross-functionally with research units, administrative units, IT Services, and Business/Grants & Contracts Office, in the application development, testing, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance, in addition to other functional groups based on program or project scope.
