Splunk Engineer
Location: So. SF, CA
Prefer local candidates

Responsibilities
Build Splunk searches, alerts, reports, dashboards and Splunk Enterprise
Security on security events from server systems, OS, anti-virus, software
applications, network elements (firewalls, load balancers, routers and
switches), cloud and web
Integrate alerts and escalation with ticketing systems such as Jira and
ServiceNow.
Document Splunk procedures and processes as it pertains to Security use,
dashboards, searches, etc.
Work with Splunk on the possible future project to implement Splunk
Enterprise Security (SES) module to ensure it's optimal implementation and
usage
Work as a member of the ISO team, however work closely with SuccessFactor's
Platform team who owns the platform. Partner with the Platform team to
improve Splunk, standardize data sources and log format and the overall
health of the system.

Key skills and abilities:
Strong experience in Linux systems administration, strong experience with
Windows systems administration preferred too
Fluent with Splunk searches; can set up searches, alerts, reports, lookups
and transactions
In depth knowledge of Splunk architecture to propose solutions for saving
log storage, performance and integrating with ticketing systems
Desired skills and abilities:
Experience with Splunk Enterprise Security
Experience or knowledge with machine learning
Good written and verbal communication skills, including ticket recording
and project reporting.
