Unix Engineer 12 month contract open in Pittsburgh, PA. RED HAT LINUX EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. This is for a Data Center Security (DCS) project WHAT WILL YOU DO? Responsible for deploying Various servers. Responsible for assisting in corporate projects including server builds, server rebuilds, server hardware refreshes, and server migrations. Under direct supervision, assist in the maintaining the integrity of the operating systems environment (Windows, Unix, Linux, Etc.) Provide limited operations support, file restorations, back ups and problem resolution for operating systems platforms. The OS, core products, and layered products are installed based on product owner standards and specifications defined in the Deployment build and procedure document. Will work with project managers, product owners, and primary application owners through the duration of the project and responsibility ends when the server has been successfully turned over to the support organization. Will add/delete user groups, configures printers and modifies configuration files, creates and modifies user menus, manages mail service. Analyzes requirements and performance to optimize the overall use of the network operating system. Develop and promote Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Investigate and resolve problems involving complex networks of systems. Often lead projects involving complex systems and/or networks of systems. Must have good communication skills and must be willing to work a flexible schedule to support system maintenance window changes, acceptance testing, and go-live implementation activities. 5-10 years relevant work experience is required.
