Senior Big Data Solutions Architect Location: Minnetonka, MN (open to nonlocal candidates) Duration: Contract to hire (contract may range from 6-12+ months) Immigration status: EAD-GC/USC/GC (must be able to convert without sponsorship) Interview: Phone/WebEx Notes from Hiring Manager: • Must have 15 years of IT experience • Must have 5 years of hands-on architecture experience • Must have 5+ years of REAL hands-on Big Data experience • Truly looking for a very senior level architect who is hands-on Overview: We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team of Solution Architects in Optum Data Management in Minnetonka, MN. The Senior Solution Architect will play a critical role in driving the future state of big data at Optum. This will include driving capabilities and technologies around big data including Hadoop & NoSQL databases as well as by leveraging traditional DW technologies where applicable. Core responsibilities: The successful candidate filling this role is expected to drive mission critical projects. This includes hardening new technologies and new capabilities all a passion in keeping data secure. This candidate is will also be tasked with mentoring other Solution Architects in advanced big data capabilities including: capacity management, consumption and data integration. This individual will take a leadership role in driving technical understanding of Big Data technologies specifically in managing massive volumes of data leveraging Hadoop, Spark and ElasticSearch. This role will drive proofs-of-concepts (POC) to identify viable options for implementing new technologies and capabilities in the big data space. Other Roles: • Lead the development of architectural solutions for key business initiatives ensuring alignment with future state analytics architecture vision • Work with the other architects and infrastructure staff to understand the capacity impact by each project on the big data environment • Work closely with the program teams as outlined in the Agile methodology providing guidance in implementing solutions at various stages of projects • Roll up ones sleeves and work with program teams to support specific objectives through the application of sound architectural principles • Develop and validate that the proposed solution architecture supports the stated & implied business requirements of mission critical programs • Review technical team deliverables for compliance with architecture standards and guidelines • Drive innovative architectural approaches to leverage in-house data integration capabilities consistent with architectural goals of the enterprise • Create architectural designs for different stakeholders that provide a conceptual definition of the information processing needs for the assigned delivery programs and projects Required Qualifications: • Minimum 15 years in the IT profession • Minimum 5 years of Architecture experience • Minimum 5 years of hands on experience with Data Management using Big Data Technologies • Experience with end to end implementations of big data efforts • Driving technology decisions and hardening of big data technologies and capabilities in an established big data environment • Proven performance and capacity management in a big data environment • Minimum 5 years of experience creating DM / DW architectures • Experience with various data intake, staging and integration methods and tools • Demonstrated mentoring experience • Demonstrated ability to delivery programs from start to implementation • Experience delivering against long-term and strategic technology roadmaps • Success leading multiple programs using the Agile methodology • High accountability with a demonstrated ability to deliver • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely ideas (both verbally and in writing) to executives, peers and technologists • Relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Preferred Qualifications: • Hands on experience with Spark & ElasticSearch • Hands on experience with delivering streaming, message queues and consumption models into and out of a big data environment • Experience with lead role in Java development • Experience with Meta Data tools and techniques • Experience with ELT tools such as Talend Thanks & Regards Shailesh Swarky Solutions, MN shail...@swarkysolutions.com -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Companies Looking for IT Out Staffing & Recruitment" group.
