Position: EMC Avamar Lead - admin

Location: Peoria , IL - 12 months project

Candidate Responsibilities

• Act as a technical lead for implementation and support groups.

• Provides project management and leadership, guidance, and assistance to
other team members.

• Obtain and analyze user requests and requirements for feasibility of
design and cognizant of time and cost.

• Work with vendors on integration of purchased application solutions.

• Performs implementation and integration tasks for medium to large,
complex projects.

• Complex problem identification and resolution, including off-shift and
weekend support functions.

• Assists customers with documentation, training, and usability efforts.

• Prioritize, manage, and track team workload progress as required.

• Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing
environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications
software, and all configurations.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve medium and high complexity network
hardware, software, or other system problems, and replace defective
components when necessary on/off-shift and during weekends. End of Lease
Management



Technical Skills

8 - 10 years of progressive IT experience in the backup fields

5- 7 years experience supporting and implementing Avamar and Data Domain in
the below areas:

Data Domain: manually start file system clean create/delete mtree
create/delete ddboost storage unit create/delete user configure replication
set/remove quotas clear alerts open support ticket with Dell-EMC Avamar:

register/configure Avamar client backup kick off manual backup perform
restores file level agent file level image full image configure scheduled
backup configure replication create groups, domains, include/exclude lists
etc. configure Data Domain storage stop/start MCS open support ticket with
Dell-EMC open WebEx with support monitor Avamar software upgrades Avamar
Proxies.



Soft Skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills,
customer service and interpersonal skills.

Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time as well as well
as being a collaborative team member.

Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to
resolve issue.

Able to respond to demanding target dates.
