Position: C/C++ Developer Lead - with Java

Location: Peoria , IL - 24 months project

Candidate Responsibilities
Summary: The main function of a Analyst/Developer is to provide application
and/or team leadership in the development of detailed system specifications
for major business support and/or development, integration, and
implementation projects. Job Responsibilities: Design, code, test, and
debug programs of varying levels of complexity. Acts as team leader for
development and support groups. Provides project management, programming,
and systems leadership, guidance, and assistance to other team members.
Analyze user requests and software requirements for feasibility of design
and potential impact while cognizant of time and cost constraints. Work
with vendors on integration of purchased application solutions. Performs
implementation and integration tasks for medium to large, complex in-house
developed or purchased software solutions. Complex application problem
identification and resolution, including off-shift and weekend support
functions. Assists customers with documentation, training, and usability
efforts. Prioritize, manage, and track team workload progress as required.
Skills: Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills,
customer service, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work
independently on complex issues. Fully knowledgeable of related
infrastructure components and/or operating environment. Strong ability to
troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue.
Strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from
business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional
specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery. High
proficiency in a computer software application or programming language
specifically identified in the assignment requirements. JavaScript/ JSP,
SQL, DB2, IMS, .Net, - C/ C++/ C#/ C/ITK (Teamcenter), Sterling Integrator,
HTML/ Web Content Management/ CSS, Cobol/ JCL. Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent training required. 7-8
years experience required.

Primary responsibilities include technical leadership and principal
developer of a C/C++ based library used for large data storage and
manipulation. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science,
software engineering or equivalent training required. 7-8 years experience
required.

Position's Contributions to Work Group
Help drive the technical direction of the engineering software group in the
following areas, 1) Coding standards and guidelines 2) Improve quality and
regression testing 3) Effective integration with other systems.

Typical Day
Provide assistance to other engineers in a constructive manner that will
promote productivity. Analyze user requests and software requirements for
feasibility of design and potential impact while cognizant of time and cost
constraints.

Technical Skills
Required Skills: High proficiency in C/C++, Proficient in Java. Ability to
design and implement highly efficient algorithms with optimal performance.
Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve
issue. Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle. Desired
skills/Knowledge: C#, Python, SVN, Jenkins, HDF5, Qt, data analysis
experience.

Soft Skills
Strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, and
problem solving skills. Ability to work independently on complex issues.
