Palo Alto Research Center Electrical Engineer, Member of Research Staff I or II, Electronic Materials and Devices Lab Xerox's Palo Alto Research Center / Electronic Materials & Devices Laboratory is a group of physicists, material scientists, electrical engineers, and chemists who have demonstrated a history of innovation in the areas of thin-film transistors, micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), and optoelectronics. Current research is focused primarily on printed electronics, MEMS, displays, amorphous and polycrystalline silicon systems, x-ray imaging, acoustic imaging, optoelectronic semiconductors, visible and UV lasers and LEDs, optical detection systems, and bio-medical instrumentation. Our staff enjoys the opportunity to publish externally and engage in strategic research with a variety of partners, from start-ups to the Fortune 50. We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and with other staff members to help design, build, operate, and maintain experimental electronic systems for a broad range of interdisciplinary research efforts. Specifically: 1. SPICE modeling of analog circuits, 2. Schematic entry (ViewDraw) and PCB layout (Allegro), 3. Software and firmware development for controlling experiments and embedded systems, in Unix and other environments, 4. Soldering, debugging, and delivering working prototype electronics, 5. 3D (SolidWorks) mechanical design, 6. Documentation of experimental setups, maintenance of on-going experiments, 7. Communicate results to colleagues, and 8. Explore new areas and build new expertise to help deliver working prototypes. Requirements: B.S. in engineering or experimental science. Preferred: * Knowledge of electronic systems hardware design and software programming * Experience building electronic and mechanical fixtures and systems for experiments and prototype products * A desire to build useful, working prototypes for research TO APPLY: visit http://www.parc.com/about/careers/ -- Raj B Apte, PhD Senior Engineer Manager, Prototype Devices & Circuits Electronic Materials & Devices Laboratory Palo Alto Research Center _______________________________________________ ____ ____ ___ ____ _ _ ___ |__| |__/ / |___ \/ |__] | | | \ /__ |___ _/\_ | Arzexp mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slow.tk/listinfo.cgi/arzexp-slow.tk
