I have been lurking for many months, waiting for the right time to dive in.
An interesting and knowledgeable group this is, to say the least.
I would like to echo the request to not include the complete article
when posting to the group, it makes it nearly impossible to read in
digest format.

I wonder how it is that eminent domain can only apply to private
landowners, usually
homeowners. In Long Branch there are people losing their homes and it
is absolute crime against them, unfair and unneccessary.
Beyond all the obvious reasons, enough KRAP has already been built on
the LB oceanfront to satisfy even the most craven taz whores.

But how is it that a Phillip Konvitz along Springwood Ave and Carabretta
from CT. can hold up any kind
of development in Asbury Park and not be gotten rid of via eminent
domain? There seems to be a
serious flaw in the system that 2 developers can own and sit on such
valuable property, and contribute so mightily to
a cities demise that Weldon led delivery of Asbury Park's redevelopment
falls into the hands of
a single entity with no track record of developing water front prime
real estate, ostensibly to save the city from bankruptcy
and a state led takeover. Something is amiss.

Further, the secrecy and lack of public awareness of what is going on in
Asbury Park has to be illegal. For so many secrets,
and so many closed door decisions to be made by public officials,
something is being hidden and the public demand to
have full disclosure, not only from the city officials, but from the
private sector developers, should be unanimous.

With that said, I believe that Asbury has indeed turned a corner, an
important one, in getting itself out of the doldrums that has harnessed
it for so long. But until the Pryor pavillion and the Casino complex are
done sitting in their rotted state and crews start working those
properties to get them back to being inhabitable, all the condos in the
world will not suffice to make Asbury's magnificent ocean front come back
from the dead. The public should demand that immediate action be taken,
especially the Pryor Pavillion.

And it is obvious that RestoreRadio has that agenda and Maureen should
be lauded for her hard work and drive in trying to save the jewels
that are rotting in Asbury. Those of you that take every single chance
to sling arrows at her are ridiculous. To not support the hard working
diligent people who labor daily in AP, whether at city hall, or in their
own business in Asbury is foolhardy. It will only be a united and selfless
population that could possibly get Asbury to the all important and
critical next steps in the come back of the city.

As for the FBI sting operation that resulted in arrests across Monmouth
County this past week, the source of their sting sure sounds like a life
long criminal from
the Cullinane story in the Sunday Press today. While Terry Weldon still
remains out of prison, and a guy like Steffer is used as a foil to bring
down county officials, something
is mighty fishy about the whole damn thing. Being a life long friend of
Terry Weldon, it hurts to lump him with a guy like Steffer. While
Steffer was engaged in a shootout
with law enforcement, I am sure Terry was crashing another gala event
and getting his picture taken with the biggest stars of the day,

Anyway, this is one helluva group and I have learned quite a bit about
AP from reading your posts, more, dare I say, from either the APP or the
ridiculous Tri-City News.
