just think Oak, if you only lived in Asbury, you would think Weldon
was a hero. According to Bruno, "if it wasn't for Terry Weldon, we
wouldn't have this plan today". According to this council, Terry
Weldon was Robin Hood, who robbed from the rich (Ocean Township) and
gave to the poor (Asbury Park). All of his negotiations were above
board, and the $61,965 was all money he received in Ocean Township,
and he actually negotiated this agreement in good faith. Well heck,
Kate is running on an anti-corruption platform, and she supports him,
even though she stated she never met him before she was elected to
council. isn't that good enough?

Just think what he could have negotiated if the FBI hadn't forced him
to resign & plead guilty the SAME DAY the waterfront agreement was
signed. Instead of giving the $67,000 payout from Asbury's council to
lawyers to delay justice, he could actually be in jail today. He could
feel safe against "double jeopardy" and actually name names, and bring
down people who have taken MORE than just a $5,000 driveway.

But Terry, thanks to this council, has his $67,000 to pay for lawyers
to buy freedom through 2005, and justice is delayed. And we are forced
to pick up the APP each morning, see another city government official
busted for a driveway job, and read further to see if it was one of
OUR guys.
