Actually this is a serious question that I'm sure a lot of people might want
the answer to... one that the 2000 census would not help with -- so I'm not
sure why people keep using those numbers. (not you... other people)...

I suppose that given enough time and money, one could do the research. You
could actually get the answers very specifically.... If you took the database
of registered voters -- available from the Monmouth County Clerk of
Registrations for $20 -- and then took the time to laboriously pour through the
voter sign-in books, you could flag each voter in the database as voting in the
2005 municipal election. (Side note, in Monmouth they only keep track in their
database of who voted in general and primary elections... not muni or school
board although the hard copy sign-in books are available for pubic inspection.)

Now armed with your own copy of the voter registration database with the people
who voted flagged, you could obtain other commercially available database that
contain the demographics you're interested in. Compare the two, and you have
your information.

I think it would be easy though for people to misconstrue the results. It would
not give a picture of the population since it only deal with registered votes
who vote -- which as Skip and JerseyJohn keep pointing out is a teeny tiny itsy
weensy portion of the population.
