Story time.
About 8 years ago, I had an old refrigator to sell, (It was used on the
Boardwalk).
I stuck an ad in press. I offered it for $100. (new almost)
This older guy comes to my house, in a beat-up olds loaded with shit coming out
the
windows. He looked scragly.
I felt bad for him, told him give $50, which he did. He then asked if we could
drop it off at
his house. So my dad I hauled this damn thing to Wall Townhip. Same thing house
looked
old etc.
Once inside it was spotless.
So the three of us started talking.
Turns out, he was complaining. About What.
ALL HIS PROPRETY just in AP had dropped in value from around $3.7m to $1.8m
over a 2
year period.
And I just "gave away" $50, I thought.
A couple years later, this guy and I are in about foot and half water, looking
for parts in
the basement of deal plumbing, with a little flashlight, bs'ing. He was looking
for a $2.00
part to fix a water heater.
He was still driving an old car.
I drive a mercedes suv. I haul bikes, dirt, trees, kids, you name it. Every now
and then I
park it on cookman. It has 85,000 miles on it. Hopefully, it will last me
another 30 years.
