Interesting article about real estate
at the Jersey shore, but for some reason, it doesn't come up with either a
Google search or NYT site search of cyberspace. First time I've
experienced that. Go figure.
"If It's Really Expensive, We'll Take
it," by Robert Strauss. NYT, NJ p. 6, May
28.
Teasers:
"Of all the possible business investments over the last decade, real estate
at the Jersey shore has been among the rosiest. While this is still
largely true, real estate brokers say they have noticed an odd twist this
season:....It is that strange upside-down market at the Shore that is unusual,
though."
Farther north, where a lot of the Shore towns have more year-round
residents than in the south, the trend appears to be similar, with high-priced
homes on or near the ocean still selling well."
Gwen Pastorelli, an agent for Mary Holder Real Estate: "At the
Shore, people seem to want new. They don't want to put up with
fixing."
