putting in parking meters downtown within the next 18 months is only
going to hurt the downtown merchants who struggle every month to pay rent.
the city and it's engineer should be worrying about providing ample
parking to support the businesses now operating, and soon to come, in
down town ap. 5 or more years from now when things start to percolate,
if they indeed do start, then it would be time to put in high line
fancy parking meters.
Between now and then, start a parking commission, fix up the existing
meters, hire a meter maid and get the process rolling.
people, shoppers, bennies, anybody hardly come to downtown now, ya'
think because there are high fa luting parking meters they are going come?
