Two in one day in 1.5 square miles. There are going to be more of
these if there is not a crackdown on speeding in this city. I asked
a council meeting for some enforcement on Asbury Ave east of Main.
They drive much too fast there, especially at night on the weekends.
I am not faulting the police, they have a lot to do and have done
much already. But we have to stop the speeding. From today's APP.

ASBURY PARK A 31-year-old woman was treated at a local hospital
Wednesday after her van rolled over following a collision, police
said.
Shawna Dickerson of Asbury Park was driving north on Grand Avenue in
a 2000 Chevrolet Astro van, and Pauline Collins, 70, of Neptune was
headed east on Fourth Avenue in a 2000 Buick LeSabre, when their
vehicles collided at the intersection, Detective Sgt. Terrance
Fellenz said.
Dickerson's vehicle rolled over, he said. She still was in the van
when firefighters arrived. She was taken to Jersey Shore University
Medical Center in Neptune, where she was treated and released.
Collins was given a summons charging careless driving, Fellenz said.
The accident, which occurred about 10:45 a.m., was under
investigation by officer Dennis Blake of the traffic bureau.
A few hours earlier, around 7 a.m., a car overturned near the 1500
block of Fourth Avenue, about a half-mile away, according to Fire
Inspector Garrett M. Giberson."
