EATONTOWN — Police said they took a 16-year-old Asbury Park boy into custody
after they
saw him unlock a stolen vehicle with a key and get inside.

The owner of the 2004 Toyota reported the vehicle stolen to Asbury Park police
on Friday.

Eatontown Police Sgt. Mike Panchak located the Toyota on the same day, by
tracking a Lojack
vehicle recovery signal, according to Detective Sgt. Thomas Clayton.

The officer found the vehicle parked in the Monmouth Mall lot, so Detective
Edward Nelson
set up surveillance, and he spotted the boy get into the car around 9:10 p.m.,
police said.

The boy was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle. He was released to his
parents.
