1. Columbus Day in Nieuw Asbury Park
* We celebrate the tolerance Asbury Park has come to represent in the
past few decades.
2. "Towards a New Italian American Identity"
* There are Italian Americans, scholars among them, who stand in
opposition to ethnic chauvinism, racism, sexism, and homophobia.
3. Don't Disgrace my Calamari Rap
* Joe Sciorra as one of those scholars who is not an egghead, nor an
effete intellectual: he is an Italian through and through, who promotes now
musicians and other artists, and aggressively seeks alliances with other races
and ethnic cultures.
* * He is worthy of honorary citizenship in Asbury Park because
I'd like to believe that's what we stand for now.
Although I acknowledged that I am in the minority regarding the Landing
event,
I hope the above points represent the majority in this city.
