Hi Tyson Thanks for your interest in ASCEND. I have CCed Ben Allan in this email, hopefully he will be able to give you some more information about his ideas here. Essentially, I think that the idea would be to write a whole new solver that can make demonstrated efficiency gains by solving equations in parallel where possible. It is a fairly difficult task, so you will probably need to show that you've got some suitable background in the field: parallel programming and numerical methods. Are you undergrad or postgrad currently?
