Hi Valery Apologies for the delay. Yes, it is still possible to bind freesteam with ASCEND on Windows, but you will should use the latest version of freesteam from the subversion repository (the 'new-c' branch) I propose to make a new release shortly which will work automatically.
Keep an eye on the freesteam mailing list for details of the new release when it occurs.
