Hello,

Summary:
Bulding ascend on gentoo with support for ipopt (3.9.1) does not work.

Details:

I installed IPOPT in ~/Software/IPOPT/build, with the ipopt binary
copied to ~/bin. I tested ipopt using the student version of ampl.

This is how I tried to build ascend with ipopt support, one of many
attempts with variations.

() cd ~/Software

() svn co svn://ascend.cheme.cmu.edu/ascend/code/trunk ascend

() su (or the build fails trying to write to a file in /usr/lib64/python26/)

() export PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/bin:~rmason/bin (so sundials-config &
   ipopt binary will be found)

() cd ascend

() scons install INSTALL_PREFIX=~rmason/Software \
   IPOPT_PREFIX=~rmason/Software/IPOPT/build \
   IPOPT_LIBPATH=~rmason/Software/IPOPT/build/lib \
   IPOPT_CPPPATH=~rmason/Software/IPOPT/build/include

() ....
   Checking for SUNDIALS... no
   Checking for CONOPT... no
   Checking for IPOPT... no
   (Even though sundials and ipopt are installed).

() Tried again with IPOPT_CPPPATH=~rmason/Software/IPOPT/build/include/coin, to
no
   avail.

Cheers,
Roger Mason
