Hi Sandhyaa As given on the list, I would certainly rate the automated parameter setting as a higher priority task, so my preference would be for you to try to work on that one.
The goal of this (parameter) project is to design and implement an improved system for setting parameters in dynamic models from instructions within the model text itself. We recently implemented something similar for NLA/NLP models, but integrators use a different API, withonly a few shared elements. A good start would be to examine the operation of OPTION and SOLVER statements in current ASCEND, then to examine the use of solverparameters in the ascend/integrator/integrator.h and related code, and develop an initial proposal for generalising the above OPTION and SOLVER statements. If you could prepare some notes on that topic, and send them to me in advance of submitting your proposal, I think that would be a good move, and would allow us to determine if you have the skills for the job.
