Hi, I am Kalpa Welivitigoda, a third year undergraduate from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. I am interested in working on the GSoC project of ascend: Internationalisation.
I have been involved in localising many FOSS projects including GNOME, KDE, Sugar, Firefox, OpenOffice etc. I have used with Pootle in my localisation contribution to OpenOffice. I hope to integrate pootle to ascend so that the localization process will be much easier to perform as well as to manage. Although the priority of the project is stated as "Low" I personally believe that having a proper localisation process and localized versions will enable ascend to reach a large number of people. Many people will be benefited and there will be new contributed as well which in turn is a benefit to the project. I hope to discuss further on this project idea and your idea on this is highly accepted.
