hello
I am Akash thagela an undergraduate student pursuing Aerospace
Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India.I recently
got introduced to ASCEND when i was looking for a project to work on.I am
interested in the GUI improvement program being offered as i am pretty much
into artificial intelligence at my college level, currently working on
voice recognized digital motion as a small college project.
As adviced by Mr. John Pye i started to learn more about what
actually ASCEND does, and it turned out to be pretty intriguing for
me.Being an engineer not only me, my several friends face problems in
various difficult equation solving in maths, thermodynamics etc.I started
on the GUI development and c++ to python change project but now ASCEND is
offering me a lot.I want to implement several equations and methods i know
off like matrix solution for example and being an aerospace engg. i would
highly prefer building it up for aerodynamics as well.
I downloaded and ran the ascend trunk code, it had some errors which i am
currently working on.I have also started reading about Tcl/Tk and Py-GTK as
required for the project.I am not sure as of now what models to prepare.It
would be really nice of you to help me in that section.Cause i am really
excited about this and want to be a part of ASCEND.
About my experience i have been coding for 7 years now.I am well versed
with python, django, c++, c, java etc. and i use SWIG as an interface
generator.I have worked on some projects one of which being with Yahoo's
HackU and Oracle's KampusKoffee. I interned last year at soft-computing a
french start-up on application development and user interface.I have been
part of several other project at my college level.
