Hi Tim

I'm afraid I haven't attempted to use the Tcl/Tk GUI yet with Ubuntu
12.04 LTS, but I believe that Ben Allan, as our main Tcl fan and key
developer of that GUI, has done so. The issue that I saw was that
TkTable2.9 has been dropped from the Ubuntu repositories; previously
that was a dependency of the Tcl/Tk GUI and needed to be installed
together with tk-dev and tcl-dev in order for the Tcl/Tk GUI of ASCEND
to be built.

If you have succeeded in building the Tcl/Tk GUI, the executable is in
tcltk/interface/asc4dev (a wrapper script for running inside the
'working directory') or tcltk/interface/ascend4 (a wrapper script for
running from the 'installed location').

Give me some more info on where the problem exists and Ben or I might be
able to help you further.

Cheers
JP
