Hi Kesha
ASCEND has not been accepted to participate in GSOC2013. We are
following up with them to find out what their reason for the rejection
was on this occasion. In the meantime, I've started to ask around other
accepted organisations to see if there might be a chance for them to
accept students to be mentored under the ASCEND project. There are few
options out there. I've already some some words of encouragement back
from the Python Software Foundation, and I'll also get in contact with a
couple of university-based groups as well. Hopefully there'll still be
ways for high-quality students to get paid for some work with us, if
your proposal is good enough.
I'll keep you (all) posted, via this list.
