Please consult http://ascend4.org/GSOC2015. If you are interested in
developing with us, I can suggest possibly Ben Elliston as a mentor
(CCed). You will need to work fast to develop your proposal, however.
We are interested in multi-core solver codes, especially for
optimisation in ASCEND. I am not sure we are in the ball-park of
'massively parallel' applications, however, so you may wish to consider
that. Take a look around our wiki, get yourself familiar with the kinds
of problems we are solving.
