Apologies for the 2 month break, I'm back on deck again. Thanks for you patch.
Unicode has always been problematic, I think it mostly works with UTF-8 but I'm
not an expert and because I don't rub up against any problems myself I've not
been motivated to dig any deeper. If you could document some examples where
there are problems maybe someone else could help.
