That sounds like a nice example of how to manipulate OpenOffice documents from
Python. Because it's relatively specialized my preference would not be to
include it in the main AsciiDoc distribution, but it would be great if you could
publish the project on the Internet then could add a link to the 'Resources'
section on the AsciiDoc website.

script for it is done in bash, and works for OS X and Ubuntu (which is

It requires the following programs to be installed:
o imagemagick
o openoffice suite
o python-uno
o python
The conversion is done in two steps, first a python scrupt created a
pdf from the open office document, then imagemagick transforms the pdf
to an image format.
