Hi all,
i now work on some code that i hope will allow (as filter) to use
libreoffice/openoffice math syntax for equations.
I think it will be usefull for those who have to exchange documents with
people who dont know about tex/asciidoc/etc, and use ms word or in best
case open/libreoffice.
Now AFAIK only tool for such type of tasks is unoconv, but its not support
equations and AFAIK tables.
Again AFAIK, it's author continue work on this tool, but i dont know which
task for him is main to implement.
Now, my code is really in the very very basic state. But now at least i
can get MathML from Math equation in file. Its possible i think, to
include such file in master XML document with XInclude. So i plan to work
on some simple document on this weekend.
I not very good now not in python uno OO bindings, not with python in
general :). And libreoffice documentation on this topic AFAIK not very
wide now. But seems it will be moderatly difficult task.
As for now main question for me, what is the goal? To make this like
asciidoc filter, and futher processing do with unoconv or try to submit
code to unoconv. If it will be filter, than its possible to use produced
MathML for example in xhtml generation to have equations in web.
From other side, maybe it will be overkill solution to use fullblown
office suite just for generation couple of MathML equations, and maybe use
of some plain pythonic library will be better (i dont realy know how hard
will be to implement Math syntax, and again now i'm not very good with
python).
I will be glad to hear what people think about it.
Thanks.
