My preference is to package them as a user installable backend, to this
end I've committed a patch that will allow custom backends to be
distributed as filter plugins:
Hello Stuart,
again many thanks for your impressive work on asciidoc.
I will take a look on your packaged filter next week
and try to make it running as a filter.
Thanks to Stuart and Jean-Michel for this. Looking forward to the new
user installable backend system. Asciidoc and Slidy rules!
I've just committed a follow up change to the installable backend:
http://code.google.com/p/asciidoc/source/detail?r=7105c37f79e3534d2abfaa5409e43a1d60575f80
Here's the amended text to my previous post:
The slidy2 backend packaged in a Zip file:
$ unzip -l slidy2-1.0.zip
Archive: slidy2-1.0.zip
Length Date Time Name
--------- ---------- ----- ----
19338 2011-08-13 15:30 slidy2.conf
0 2011-08-13 15:21 stylesheets/
624 2011-08-13 15:17 stylesheets/slidy_color_set_black.css
489 2011-08-13 15:19 stylesheets/slidy_color_set_yellow.css
456 2011-08-13 15:18 stylesheets/slidy_color_set_blue.css
499 2011-08-13 15:19 stylesheets/slidy_color_set_green.css
29 2011-08-13 15:20 stylesheets/slidy_color_set_none.css
--------- -------
21435 7 files
It can be installed with:
$ asciidoc --backend install slidy2-1.0.zip
The backend has been install in the user's $HOME directory:
$ asciidoc --backend list
/home/srackham/.asciidoc/backends/slidy2
And now the slidy2 backend can be used just like a built-in backend:
$ asciidoc --backend slidy2 mydocument.txt
Cheers, Stuart
