That would have been my answer to your question. While syntax is a very personal matter, I also prefer the various constructs that DocBook provides that is specific to books in the first place, but also very useful for other documents (term indexes, footnotes, admonitions, ...)

And that's what AsciiDoc supports and some lightweight markup languages don't.
