I don't have a problem with the uppercase URL and it shouldn't be a problem in
8.6.5, run a2x with the --verbose option to get a better idea of exactly what
xmllint is complaining about, if that doesn't help post a minimal example file
that recreates the problem.

For debugging purposes it could be useful to have a2x (and asciidoc) throw the
output of the command that failed to stdout/stderr. Maybe when -v is added ?

This could help troubleshoot a problem without needing to reverse engineer the
process a2x uses in the background.


Unless I've misunderstood your suggestion, this is exactly what the a2x -v option currently does.
