IMHO thats a bad idea. Invisible markup is too easily damaged during editing or removed when someone strips trailing spaces (which many VCS systems are set up to do). All markup should be visible characters. A hard line break should be an exceptional circumstance. If you are using so many that the text is hard to read, then you are probably using it wrong.
