Solved!

The issue is due to the path. I have a directory called "book" with a 
directory "content" which has files with links like:
`image::../image/foo.png[]`; there is to use `image::image/foo.png[]`, 
instead.

book :: with main text file "book.txt.adoc"
|
|----content (*.txt.adoc)
|
|----image (*.png)
