Well, have you uncommented
CharsetTable iso88591 en charsets/iso8859
and put
LocalCharset iso8859-1
in charsets.conf and in s.htm? Maybe your webserver does not return
Content-Type with proper charset?
Please provide URL with your search engine, if it's available from
Internet.
