I have successfully used egcs-2.91.66 from RedHat 6.2 (although it fails to compile
on some platforms, and upgrade to 2.95.3 helps), now I use 2.96 (actually this
is 3.0 prelease) from gcc-2.96-69.asp rpm (which is taken by ASPLinux people
from RedHat I believe).

Chmouel, please ask me if I can help in something.
