Hi all: I apologize for being a fool! Went through the searchd.conf and realized that AllowFrom was set to only allow searches from the server IP address. Guess I had misunderstood the instructions....I thought that directive meant from which virtual domain in the server, the s.cgi script could be run, I didn't believe it meant that people from only that domain could execute searches.....
