Some cross-compilation checks can't be done in configure. For example, it can't guess if you target machine is big endian or little endian. That is why you can't cross-compile, sorry. > Another question: why are you using Aspseek and not ht:/ Dig ?? Well, just because we wrote it :-0 Actually aspseek was written because ht://Dig is just not capable enough. For example, ht://Dig can't search for phrases, can't index and search 10M documents fast, don't do excerpts, its relevance is lower (that means results produced are much less relevant than those of aspseek). There are a number of other shortcomings in ht://Dig as well; I believe users who tried both engines will tell you more. > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Alexander F Avdonkin" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Sent: Wednesday, January 16, 2002 12:54 AM > Subject: Re: AW: [aseek-users] several questions to index > > > ASPseek doesn't work under Windows > > > > > > mozdesigners (): > > > > > > > > > > Is there any other free compiler available for win 32 ? > > > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > Sent: Tuesday, January 15, 2002 6:16 AM > > > Subject: AW: AW: [aseek-users] several questions to index > > > cygwin is for win32 i use a linux box, so i have used > > > gcc....
