My ancestors are Albert Merrill (1865-1948) and Philomene LeCourt (1864-1936).
Philomene was born 27 Apr 1864 Saranac, Clinton, New York.  Albert Born 1865
Blackbrook, Clinton, New York.

In the Assumption of Mary Parish Record, Philomene’s Parents were Louis LeCourt
and Philomene Fontaine.  A sponsor was Theotisse Varboncoeur.  Philomene was
born 27 Apr 1864.

Louis Napoleon LeCourt married Philomene Adeline Fontaine 20 Oct 1862 at the
Assumption of Mary Parish in Redford, Clinton County.  No parents were listed
for either person.

Philomene Fontaine is shown on the 1850 US Census in Chazy, Clinton, NY with
Peter and Madeline Fontaine and other children.  Philomene’s birth place is
Canada.   Peter’s birth is listed in Canada about 1797; Madaline’s Birth Canada
1805.

Louis Napoleon Lecourt is in the 1860 Census in Black Brook, Clinton age 25
with Teotise La Cour as head.  Birthplace for both Canada.  On the 1870 census
age 32, birth 1838 listed as New York.  Married to Adeline with Philomene and
Joseph children.

There is a couple Joseph Lecourt and Theotise Verboncour in Plattsburgh
Village.  A sister of Louis, Helene was married to Alexander Lavoie and her
Parents are listed as Joseph and E Vadebonneau  Another sibling Gabriel
Lecourt’s parents are Joseph Lecourt and Theotine Verboucour.

I cannot find these people in Canada or their marriage.  There’s pieces of
information, but nothing I can follow.  This is my brick wall.

Candis
