Hi Vishal, Could you please let me know the GSM MAP
spec numbers you used for MAP versions 1, 2 and 3? Thanks! - Eranga From: Vishal Choudhary
[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Hi Eranga/Casper, Some operators are still
using V1 operations, though the number is very few. The way we did it in our
organization is that we created different ASN files for different versions and
compiled them separately. Then which file is to be
used for encoding/decoding can be made out from the application context version
field received in MAP_OPEN_REQUEST. And if this field is not
present, it means it is a V1 operation. =================== Practice makes a man
perfect. But what about women? From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Hi All, There are some MAP operations, which are only supported in
MAP Protocol Version 1. They are -- sendParameters map-ac infoRetrieval (14) version1 (1)
local:9 -- processUnstructuredSS-Data map-ac networkFunctionalSs
(18) version1 (1) local:19 -- performHandover map-ac handoverControl (11) version1 (1)
local:28 -- performSubsequentHandover map-ac handoverControl (11)
version1 (1) local:30 -- noteInternalHandover map-ac handoverControl (11) version1
(1) local:35 -- noteSubscriberPresent map-ac mwdMngt (24) version1 (1)
local:48 -- alertServiceCentreWithoutResult map-ac shortMsgAlert (23)
version1 (1) local:49 -- traceSubscriberActivity map-ac handoverControl (11)
version1 (1) local:52 -- beginSubscriberActivity map-ac networkFunctionalSs (18)
version1 (1) local:54 -- The following error codes are reserved for errors -- existing in previous versions of the protocol -- Error Name AC used Error Code -- -- unknownBaseStation map-ac handoverControl (11) version1
(1) local:2 -- invalidTargetBaseStation map-ac handoverControl (11)
version1 (1) local:23 -- noRadioResourceAvailable map-ac handoverControl (11)
version1 (1) local:24 Aren’t they used in now-a-day Telecom Providers? If
any of the operators still using them, how could I combine them with MAP Phase
2, 2+, 3 versions? Should I find their definition from old spec and include
them is the current spec? Or should I create a separate ASN.1 file(s) with
those definitions. Please advice!
